Life Sciences
The subject enables learners to explore and understand basic life processes and the interrelationships between the living and physical world; to develop enquiry and problem solving skills; to apply scientific knowledge in their lives and in contributing to society and to understand the ethics and biases underlying interactions with the environment and society.
The subject is useful preparation for future studies or careers in the fields of medicine, veterinary science, agriculture, genetics, biokinetics, physiotherapy, nutrition or education.
Life Sciences is a “learning subject” with some problem solving and research aspects. Content is relatively easy, out large volumes of terms and processes need to be memorised. We use a variety of teaching methods including team teaching to enhance the learning experience.

Physical Sciences
The subject aims to provide learners with practical, scientific problem-solving skills, the ability to construct and apply scientific knowledge and the ability to evaluate the relationship of science to technology, society and the environment.
Physics: Mechanics, waves, sound and light; electricity and magnetism
Chemistry: Matter and materials; chemical reactions; chemical systems such as water, the nitrogen cycle (global warming, pollution, etc.)
Physical Sciences will be useful to learners who after school wish to study a B.Sc. course, engineering course or medical course and wish to follow careers in these fields.
The subject contains an interesting practical component as well and boys will be required to do experiments. The subject demands thorough learning of basic principles.
