Visual Art prepares boys for a career as an artist and is a designated subject for university entrance. The subject can also play a role in developing self-reliance and creativity.
Theory Component: A teacher from Belgravia will teach this work at Selborne for 3 periods per week.
Practical Work: This is done in the afternoon after school at the Belgravia studios. Two afternoons per week from 14:00 to 16:00 are required.
An additional termly fee is payable to Belgravia if this course is followed.

Boys learn to communicate by creating, performing and understanding music. They are prepared for participation in community life and learn to apply musical knowledge.
History of music: a wide variety of genres are covered
Harmony: the writing of music
Practical: playing an instrument or singing
Career opportunities include composing, mixing, producing music for adverts or shows, sound technology, recording and performing.
Music is a subject with small classes, so individual attention is possible. Ensemble work can be done via the band or choir.
