The subject aims to teach the discipline of communicating, analysing and interpreting financial information in order to make informed and appropriate financial decisions.

Topics covered

Financial Accounting: Recording of transactions as well as the analysis, interpretation and communication of financial statements.
Managerial Accounting: Costing and budgeting
Managing resources: Internal controls, internal audit processes and a code of ethics.

The subject is useful preparation for any commerce course. Future careers in the accounting or management fields are possible. The subject will also prove useful to learners who intend to run their own business in the future.
