Staff and boys were involved in different activities during Cultural Week. Early morning assemblies with a cultural flavour were occasions to look forward to.
Break times were occupied with a Xhosa talent show, blitz chess tournament, speakers corner, a society market and a staff versus senior boys debate.
The evenings offered very successful guitar performances with a picnic element, poetry and prose by candlelight, music for Africa show, an interhouse quiz and a Mediterranean Taverna and Dance evening for adults, called the Gunn and Hound.
It was once again compulsory for Grade 8 and 9 boys to attend certain performances as part of their Life Orientation programme at school. The creative writing workshop hosted Selbornians and learners from neighbouring schools in the library where interesting displays added to the excitement of having learners from different cultural groups.
Thanks to parents, staff and boys who contributed with great enthusiasm towards the success of Cultural Week.
