As we approach the exam week, I would like to remind you that the school policy is that we will not be cancelling any fixtures. The practices will be put on hold. Please take note of this and make sure that your preparations for the exams are not left to the last minute. Good luck for studying.
I would like to congratulate the teams that participated over the weekend in the Queens Derby day. There were some fine performances. The u13A hockey side did us proud. The hockey that was played was of a high standard and the 3-0 score line was indeed a very satisfying feeling for the supporters that were there. The support on the stands for the u13A rugby side needs to be commended and once again I need to say thank you to the parents for allowing your sons to stay behind and be part of the match. It really looked good to see and hear you boys singing on the stands
Special mention must be made of the tennis teams this week. The results show that they were dominant in all their matches barring one which we managed to draw. Well done boys. That is really awesome. Could I remind the tennis boys that when we are playing matches, you need to wear short white socks and not your school socks. Thank you
This weekend we will be travelling to Dale Junior. It is their Re Union weekend and so will be a big day for them. Let us ensure that we make their celebrations something that they will remember for a long time to come. Their results against Grey PE were very good this last weekend with Dale winning the u13A and u12A matches in PE. We are going to have to be at the top of our game. It should prove to be an awesome day of rugby.

Welcome back to the u13A team who have been in Durban for the past 5 days. They seem to have had a good time and the results speak for themselves. There were many fine performances by the team, but mention must be made of Jerome Bossr’s 101. That is an awesome performance. Well done Jerome. Rain hampered the last day so little play was possible, but they certainly had the home team DPHS on the racks. Overall though, I believe the team played well together and have made Selborne very proud and are certainly becoming of the best teams that Selborne has had for many years. Keep up the work.

Congratulations to the Selborne team who participated in the Amakhosi gala last Thursday afternoon and were victorious winning the trophy again. A big thank you to all the parents that assisted us with time keeping. Good luck to all our swimmers who will be leaving on Wednesday to Cape Town for the Nationals. We are proud of all of you and hope that your times wil be all that you hoped for. Jordan Ramoo has been selected to represent Eastern Cape at the SA Nationals. His name was left off the original list. Sorry to Jordan for that, but well done on your selection and good luck at the championships.

About Selborne Primary
Selborne Primary was founded way back in 1872 and was named after the Second Earl of Selborne who, as High Commissioner in South Africa from 1905 to 1910, took a keen interest in the development of educational facilities around the country.
From these humble beginnings the Selborne schools have grown into institutions where attitudes, skills, relationships and values are developed enabling our students to become enterprising, creative, innovative, caring and responsible citizens in an increasingly competitive and international environment.
As a Christian based school the underlying principles of this faith form a firm foundation for our students and add another important facet to their development as well rounded individuals.
An experienced and highly committed staff provide a learning environment that is balanced, stimulating, orderly and caring. The boys are expected to be hard working, respectful toward each other and willing to be adaptable to the many demands and challenges which they face as young men.
The extensive extra mural programme offered caters for individuals of varying ability and interests. Activities as varied as string playing, drama, rugby and table tennis are available. This, along with a highly successful pupil exchange with two British schools provides our boys with many options and opportunities to develop.
One of the strengths of our school is the very intense parental support we enjoy while another is the happy, committed involvement of staff and boys.
Selborne is a vibrant, exciting place of learning where the racial and cultural differences of our pupils add to a rich heritage passed down over many years.
For those who are seeking the right place for their son, this will be one of the most important decisions you will ever make. I humbly suggest you consider Selborne Primary - an exciting school of thought.
