Mervyn Muller (Class of 1941)

Mervyn_MullerThe Old Selbornian Association is deeply saddened to announce that Mervyn Muller (Class of 1941) has passed away.

A true Old Selbornian, whose knowledge and dedication of Selborne and the Old Selbornian Association, was unparalleled.

Mervyn worked tirelessly for the OSA and served as national President from 1956 to 1958 and again, when the OSA was part of Old Boys Club, he served as Club President from 1970 to 1973. Mervyn did serve as President of Old Boys Club again, but this was after the OSA became a separate entity.

Mervyn, we will miss you. On behalf of Old Selbornians all over the world, we would like to extend our sincere condolence to the Muller family.

From the Bearers of the Palm:
Mervyn Muller himself, a man whose dedication and hard work in the cause of Old Boys has been an inspiration to all.  Controversial, idealistic and fired by a genuine love of his old School, his drive and ambition have been the mainspring in the development of a magnificent Club-house, sports fields and Trust Fund for the School.  Seldom was a Palma Virtuti award better deserved than the one conferred on him at Prize-giving in Centenary Year.

This amazing photograph was submitted by Peter Soal (Class of 1953).
